Current operational situation on intermodal network

Dear partners,

Due to the upgrading of the railway network, the congestion of the Šentilj and Hodoš border crossings, unforeseen failures of infrastructure elements and the implementation of regular closures to ensure safety in railway transport, there are major obstacles to the implementation of the operational timetable.

The greatest impact is caused by:
- Closure of one track Logatec-Verd
- construction of the main passenger station in Ljubljana and the upgrade of the Ljubljana hub
- Several hours of daily complete closure of Logatec-Verd in both directions,
- Occupancy of infrastructure capacities,
- urgent maintenance work to ensure safety in railway transport on other sections

The Port of Koper is also facing very demanding conditions. The reason is the high occupancy of the container terminal together with the greatly increased volume of transhipment and renovation work on the port rail tracks, which reduce the capacity of railway operations.

The aforementioned situation has caused a domino effect and several daily delays in rail transport, which will take time to normalize, especially with the announced complete closures of the Koper and Logatec lines over the weekend.
